Our Principal: Dan McNeill OAM
Kilvington Girls' Grammar has been providing young women with a comprehensive
education since 1923. Past Kilvonians are found in all walks of life,
making a difference around the globe. Similarly, the current young
women of Kilvington are preparing to take their place in the wider
world thoroughly equipped to continue the fine tradition of their sisters.
Our Vision: Inspired Learning
Kilvington, through its rich history, contemporary teaching and learning
disciplines, flexible programs and an enlightened global philosophy,
educates and prepares young women of today with an eye on the need
for women leaders of tomorrow.
Kilvington’s fresh and harmonious environment is underpinned
by the School’s cultural kaleidoscope where girls learn as much
from one another as they do from their teachers. Students graduate
with worldliness, stability, respect, selflessness, cultural understanding
and a keen awareness of their place in the world.
With a tradition spanning more than eighty years, the school welcomes
girls from the Early Learning Years through to Year 12. The School
consists of a n Early Learning Centre, a Junior School from Kindergarten
to Year 4, a Middle School from Years 5 to 9, and a Senior School from
Years 10 to 12. The School is further supported by a Before and After
School program, and a Holiday Care program.
Our Students:
Kilvington's student population represents a wide range of cultural,
religious and social backgrounds, a terrific attribute as we work to
develop in the girls an awareness of global diversity and the challenges
humanity faces now and into the future.
The School’s motto non nobis sed omnibus – not
for our own but others’ good, is the theme that is at the nucleus
of our very being. We promote understanding and appreciation for our
cultural diversity and a keen awareness and obligation to uphold social
justice within the School community and the wider community. Students
learn the significance of giving of themselves, through projects that
aid their local community and communities abroad. An understanding
of social conscience is inspired and cultivated in the junior years
and fostered and developed as our girls extend their learning and understanding
into the middle and senior school years, thus preparing them for the
world beyond their school years.
A school cannot achieve optimal outcomes for students in isolation
and therefore we will endeavour to build strong relationships with
our learning partners – parents, families, community, service
providers, businesses, other schools, institutions of higher learning
and the professions.
Our Staff:
Kilvington has a rich, vibrant, enthusiastic and dedicated staff.
Each staff member contributes in a multitude of ways across the curriculum
and co-curriculum. Each brings a particular expertise and passion for
education that indelibly marks the successful learning journey for
each of our students, and complements the professional learning of
their peers.
Our Location:
The school is located on the Frankston line, easy walking distance
from Ormond Station. Bus services run regularly along North Road and
Leila Road with connections to Elsternwick, Elwood, Chadstone Shopping
Centre, Monash University and Waverley.
