Montessori East is a non-denominational and co-educational Montessori school for children aged 3–12 years, following the educational principles and methodologies developed by Dr Maria Montessori. The school is licensed by the NSW Department of Community Services (DOCS) and registered with the NSW Board of Studies. Montessori East is a member of the Montessori Australia Foundation, and the Association of Independent Schools.
At Montessori East we aim to nurture in children their natural love of learning and their desire to independently develop intellectually, emotionally, socially and spiritually.
The Montessori Method combines a rigorous educational foundation with opportunities for students to learn at their own pace and to follow their own interests. A Montessori education provides students with the skills and attitudes they need to become life-long learners.
As well as preparing students for a life of learning, Montessori East provides students with skills that will help them to develop into independent, reflective and ethical adults.
The students at Montessori East are drawn from a wide range of cultural, religious and social backgrounds. We celebrate this rich diversity in all areas of the curriculum.
Our dedicated teachers and assistants recognise and respect the dignity of the child. They recognise each child's individuality and potential. Teachers directing classes are required to hold teaching qualifications recognized in NSW as well as Montessori teaching qualifications. Employees enjoy a supportive parent community, friendly colleagues, and a competitive remuneration package.
