Board of Directors

James Packer

James Packer — Non-Executive Chairman

Director since October 2003.

James D Packer is the Chairman of Crown Limited and Executive Deputy Chairman of Consolidated Media Holdings Limited (previously Publishing and Broadcasting Limited). James was Executive Chairman of PBL from May 1998 to 30 November 2007. Prior to that period, he was the Chief Executive Officer of PBL from March 1996 to May 1998. James is also the Executive Chairman of Consolidated Press Holdings Limited and a director of ASX Listed companies Challenger Financial Services Group Limited and Sunland Group Limited.
Paul Bassat

Paul Bassat — Joint Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder

Director since September 1997.

Paul has ultimate responsibility for SEEK's online employment business in Australia and New Zealand and has the finance, IT and human resources departments reporting directly to him. He has responsibility for SEEK’s investment in Zhaopin, one of China's leading online employment sites, of which he is a director.

Prior to co-founding SEEK, Paul was an Associate with a leading commercial law firm, where he spent six years specialising in corporate law. He holds Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Commerce degrees from the University of Melbourne.
Andrew Bassat

Andrew Bassat — Joint Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder

Director since September 1997.

Andrew leads the Strategy and Business Development team. He is responsible for SEEK’s overall strategic direction and progress of expansion opportunities including acquisitions. Andrew is also responsible for SEEK Learning as well as SEEK's investments in Brazil and South East Asia.

Andrew is a Director of 3 of SEEK's investee companies: IDP Education Pty Ltd, Think Education Pty Ltd and Tiger Brazil Limited.

Prior to co-founding SEEK, Andrew was a management consultant with Booz Allen & Hamilton where he was involved in a wide range of strategic assignments for major Australian and international corporations. Prior to that, he worked as a solicitor at Corrs Chamber Westgarth. Andrew holds a Bachelor of Science (Computer Science) degree from the University of Melbourne, a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) degree from Monash University and a Master of Business Administration degree from Melbourne Business School.
Chris Anderson

Christopher Anderson — Non-Executive Director

Director since November 2004.

Chris Anderson's experience includes seven years as Chief Executive Officer of Optus from 1997 to 2004. Prior to joining Optus, he was the Group Chief Executive of Television New Zealand Limited. Previously, he was the Managing Editor of the Australian Broadcasting Corporation and was Chief Executive Officer & Editorial Director of John Fairfax Limited Group. Chris was employed by John Fairfax Limited from 1966 to 1991 in various positions.

He is a non-executive Director of Consolidated Media Holdings Limited (previously Publishing and Broadcasting Limited). Chris joined the CMH Board in June 2004 and was appointed Executive Deputy Chairman in January 2006. He ceased his role as Executive Deputy Chairman on 30 November 2007.

Chris is also on the Board of Foxtel Management Pty Limited, Premier Media Group Pty Limited, Ninemsn Pty Limited, Crown Limited and Australian News Channel Pty Limited.

Chris has a Bachelor of Economics degree from the University of Sydney and is a graduate of the Advanced Management Program at Columbia University, New York.
Colin Carter

Colin Carter — Non-Executive Director

Director since March 2005.

Colin Carter has an extensive consulting background in organisational and business strategy. He is a former Senior Vice-President of, and a current senior adviser to, The Boston Consulting Group. His interests include corporate governance issues and in recent years Colin has carried out board performance reviews for a number of companies as well as co-authoring a top-selling book on boards, Back To The Drawing Board.

Colin is a non-executive Director of ASX Listed company Wesfarmers Limited and a Director of World Vision Australia. He is Chairman of the AFL Foundation and Chairman of Indigenous Enterprise Partnerships.

Colin has a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Melbourne University and an MBA from Harvard Business School where he graduated with distinction and as a Baker Scholar.

Neil Chatfield

Neil Chatfield — Non-Executive Director

Director since June 2005.

Neil Chatfield has extensive experience in financial management, capital markets, mergers and acquisitions, and risk management.

Neil has a Masters of Business in Finance and Accounting, as well as post-graduate studies in information technology and accounting, and is a Fellow of the Australian Society of Certified Practicing Accountants and a Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Neil is currently Director and Chief Financial Officer of Toll Holdings Limited. The Toll Group is one of Australia's leading providers of integrated transport and logistics services. Neil is also a non-executive director of ASX Listed companies Whitehaven Coal Limited and Virgin Blue Holdings Limited
Bob Watson

Bob Watson — Non-Executive Director

Director since February 1999.

Bob Watson has over 20 years of executive management experience in the information technology and recruitment industries. His various roles have included Chief Executive Officer of Mayne Nickless Computer Services, Data Sciences International (in the UK) and Lend Lease Employer Systems. Bob was also the Australasian CEO for Adecco, the world's (and Australia's) largest recruitment and labour contracting agency.

Bob is currently Non-Executive Chairman of ASX listed biotechnology company Cytopia Limited, and Non-Executive Director of Virgin Blue Holdings Limited.

Key Management

In addition to the two Executive Directors on the Board, the following are members of the SEEK executive team.

John Armstrong

John Armstrong — Chief Financial Officer

John has overall responsibility for SEEK's finance and administration operations as well as investor relations, ensuring the necessary operational and financial processes and infrastructure are in place and aligned with SEEK's strategies and continued rapid growth.

John is a Director of IDP Education Pty Ltd and Think; Education Group Pty Ltd in which SEEK has a 50% ownership of both.

John has over 15 years experience in various financial and commercial management roles. Prior to SEEK John worked with Ernst & Young, Blackwoods and Fosters Brewing Group. John has a Master of Business Administration, and a Bachelor of Business majoring in Accounting from Monash University, and is a member of CPA Australia.
Carey Eaton

Carey Eaton — Chief Information Officer

Carey Eaton is responsible for SEEK’s IT activities including I.T. strategy, program management, enterprise and online systems, quality assurance, security and website hosting.

Carey commenced his career at SEEK as Product Director in 2007. Prior to joining SEEK, Carey's career included senior roles at News Limited’s CareerOne and managing the regional internet strategy (covering China, Hong Kong, Singapore, Japan and Australia) for Michael Page International.
Jason Lenga

Jason Lenga — Corporate Strategy Director

Jason Lenga leads the Strategy and Business Development team for SEEK’s online employment business and is responsible for corporate strategy and corporate development across SEEK’s international investments.

Jason has been with SEEK since 1999 and has been instrumental in developing SEEK’s strategic direction as well as establishing and driving key parts of the business including the Early Stage Markets segment and SEEK Learning.

Prior to joining SEEK, Jason was a solicitor with commercial law firm Mallesons Stephen Jaques within the Mergers and Acquisitions practice. Jason holds Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Commerce degrees from the University of NSW.
Joe Powell

Joe Powell — Managing Director SEEK Employment (Australia and New Zealand)

Joe Powell has day to day responsibility for SEEK’s online employment business in Australia and New Zealand. In his role he oversees the sales, marketing, customer service and product departments as well as the entire New Zealand team. He reports to joint CEO Paul Bassat.

Joe joined SEEK after a successful sales management career at Optus where he was Director, Consumer Sales. Joe originally joined Optus in December 1994 and held other senior roles including National Sales Manager Consumer Sales and Group Manager Mobile Communication Devices and Service.

Joe has a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from the University of Tasmania.
